Drug addicts are manipulators. I know this because I have some in my family. While I love them with all my heart, they will lie and deceive you in a heartbeat. I'll bet what happened was this John Doe. 10 got out of rehab and went to the St. Simon's doctor and disclosed that he had just gotten out of rehab.....the doctor didn't give him prescriptions because of that. So, next he decides I'll find another doctor and not tell him about rehab and lie and deceive to get my pills. That's probably the WHOLE truth to the story. There are always going to be people who lie and deceive to get what they want. And our society has got to start making THEM responsible for their actions instead of blaming others.
So, does that excuse the "good Dr." from being a responsible and safe medical provider???what about his sexual activity with someone "underage"???it sounds as though Chua is a sick individual who needs help instead of trying to give help, what do you think?
Chua was the last one to see Jamie alive. He took him home when Jamie complained of being lethargic. Did the good doctor check his vitals before leaving him surrounded by all those drugs?
If a person is killing himself by abusing drugs, can we let a doctor who wants that person to become his live-in companion (and previously sought other young men as live-in companions) prescribe morphine and methadone to that person? That is the question the jury has to answer. I trust their judgment more than I trust all the people who have been claiming to know the right answer to that question without hearing all the evidence.
As a patient of Dr. Chua I have been stead fast in my commitment in supporting him through this ordeal. I have been following this closely as I am sure all of you have as well. My first comment is, At what point of the trial did they say John Doe 10 was under age? Did I miss something? I disapprove of the way it is looking as far as Dr. Chua having given so many prescriptions to Jamie and like someone else stated, he was the last one to see Jamie...so why didnt he do more about Jamie being lethargic at that time instead of just taking him home. Which he very well could have examined him, we dont know because we wasnt there. I do have to say that I do not like the fact/hearsay that he may have had a relationship with John Doe and maybe even Jamie, but is that real cause to say he is guilty of murder...I dont think so. I am very interested to see what kind of case the defense can build to help Dr. Chua. At this point of this big mess all we can do is PRAY for Jamies family and Dr. Chua. Who are we to cast stones at someone when we really will never know what the WHOLE truth is. The jury will decide what they feel is the best for this case, but GOD will have the ultimate decision, and with Dr. Chua being a christian man he is well aware of that fact.
Is it not proven that Mr. Chua gave the kid the medications that killed him? Mr. Chua is charged with murder by committing a felony. Isn't it a felony to give someone (you're live in buddy and employee) so many drugs without proper documentation and regulation?
Aren't some of his charges about 15 felony counts of violating the Georgia Controlled Substances Act ?
1st - john doe 10 was 16 at the time doing a school intern . he now is 18 or 19 . the only reason i know that is from reading this - so maybe you missed it .
2nd - yes john doe 9 possibly might not have told the whole story to his doc . that does not have any hold on chua & jamie , just shows negligence on chua's behalf with a prior patient . nothing too bad at that point though .
3rd - i knew him - slightly . i went out on what was suppose to be a date that got off on the wrong foot 30 minutes into it when i found out for a solid fact he was a pill popper to the max . my friends knew it too and gave me the heads up . pills were nothing new to jamie .
chua didnt do his duties as a doctor and his neglegence is now being shown . thats where hes gonna get hit the hardest - he doesnt have any damn good reason to give him those drugs like he did - or even proper documentation .
basically there is just no reason for it to have gotten as far as it did or for the drugs to be as extreme as they were -- oxycotin ???? we get seminars in school about how bad off you get on that . thats suppose to be a last resort . why was it offered so early on ?
i am in no way arguing chuas good standing with his patients .. i hear he was a great doctor from anyone that has ever been a patient . dont let that blind you . its a shame someone who has the knowledge and power to save lives is taken out of the community -- but what if it was your child instead .. do you want to say "lets give him back his license and creditials .. so when my children get old enough they can go see this doc .. maybe they can go with him overseas if they get lucky enough - . you know , just to shadow ........... - think about it .
correction ....... they said john doe 9 was a minor of i think it was 16 on the radio station chua trial update this morning - kbay .
but isn't it that a habitual pill-popper will do anything to get his hands on drugs --- with a prescription, without, by faking a prescription, live with one who has access to whatever it is he wanted, etc.
I'm fairly new to this blog/story. Were the doctor and the young man involved in an inappropriate (personal) relationship?
God forbid I should ever get sick and have to go to this doctor to be treated.
Well,first off no doctor is a mind reader and physicians certainly aren't God. It is in the patient's best interest to be totally honest with their doctor so that they can get the best of care.
Dr Chua MOLESTED THAT 16 YEAR OLD...HE IS A PREDATORY HOMOSEXUAL WHO RAPED HIS PATIENT WHILE UNDER HIS HEAVY DRUG...HE SHOULD BE LISTED AS A CHILD MOLESTER...ADD THAT TO HIS PRISON TERM!!!!
yeah...he is a homosexual predator and that is a very strong motive for feeding his patient to get them hook on drugs. I knew all along that there is something wrong with a 45 year old doctor living together with a 19 year old patient. really wrong
