The Trial of Dr. Chua
Chua, 45, has been held in the Camden County jail since September 2006 when he was arrested and charged with the drug overdose death of Jamie Carter III. Prosecutors say Carter, 20, died from drugs Chua prescribed for no legitimate medical purpose.

Carter cautioned to distance himself from Chua by college instructor

The day's last witness, Jenny Harper, a biology teacher at Coastal Georgia Community College, described Carter as a very nice student, "very pleasant to be around."

Harper said she became concerned about Carter's relationship with Chua several weeks before his death..

"It just seemed peculiar he [Chua] wanted to spend so much time with Jamie," she testified.

She told Carter not to take morphine any more and not to see Dr. Chua after learning about the medications he was prescribed.

Harper said she was "shocked" when she learned of Carter's death.

Witnesses for the prosecution were expected to testify all day when the trial resumes at 9 a.m. Wednesday, including more testimony from Carter's friends and family members.

She also testified to the fact that she was not a medical dr. nor was she aware that he was being treated for migraines. She did not know if he needed morphine or not

All the prosecution has to turn up is the perscription written by Dr. Chua designating the use of a syringe for injection and a picture of him holding a gun to Carter's head forcing him to take the drugs that killed him. Otherwise: No Case!

Not Guilty on all counts!

For those that are sitting here saying NO GUILTY you need to wait first and gather all the evidence..DO not sit here and be like "Sweet innocent little Chua coulnt possibly do anything like this " well last time I checked there has been alot of people throughout the years that were "sweet and innocent" that have done bad things..There is a big case against this guy thus the reason for his medical license being pulled..get the ear wax out of your ear and learn to listen instead of being ignorant about the situation.

Being sympathetic to the above comment, this case is not about murder. It's about manslaughter, yes Chua could have and probably did facitlitate his death, but force the addict to take those substances he did not.
